Sandra (Sandy) Knauer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and a Certified Sex Therapist. Sandy has been a psychotherapist for almost twenty years during which time she has worked in the mental health field with a specialization in treating trauma, sexual abuse, incest and rape.
Sandy has spent a large part of her career working with dually diagnosed populations, especially as those populations pertain to substance abuse with a diagnosis related to traumatic events in the client's life.
Sandy's undergraduate degree is a BA in psychology from the University of Delaware. Her graduate degree is a MSW from Delaware Sate University. She has completed internships at Child Protective's Sexual Abuse Unit and Delaware Guidance Services. Sandy's graduate school thesis was based on research at the Attorney General's Rape Unit with regards to how victims interpreted the sentences their abusers received.
In addition to working with drug and alcohol Sandy is certified in EMDR and is a published author of the following books: No Ordinary Life: Parenting the Sexually Abused Child and Adolescent (Charles Thomas Publishing), Recovering from Sexual Abuse, Addictions and Compulsive Behaviors: "Numb" Survivors (Haworth Publishing) and the most recent novel Every 10th Starfish (AEG Publishing).
Sandy provides workshops and trainings regarding the following topics: Dissociative Identity Disorder, Detecting Sexual Abuse in Children, Treating Sexual Abuse and Disabilities, Sexual Abuse and Lost Potential, Sexual Abuse and Loss of Woman's Power, The Impact of Sexual Abuse Upon Women's Potential and Choices, Sexual Abuse, Teen Pregnancy, and Addiction, Sexual Abuse and Custody Issues, Trauma and Dual Diagnosis, Life Choices, Life Lessons, and Foster Care.
Sandy is the biological parent of three grown children and one adult foster child. She is the founder and owner of Middletown Counseling Services. |

Megan Sartin, L.C.S.W. |

Megan Sartin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a diverse experience in the mental health field. She has worked with various populations ranging from serious mental health to individuals and families coping with various transitional issues. Some of her specialties include working with adults and adolescents with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, anger, substance abuse, and trauma. Megan has both experience working with families and individuals.
Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware in Psychology and a Masters Degree from Delaware State University in Social Work. While working to obtain her licensure in both Delaware and Maryland, Megan worked as an out-patient therapist for Upper Bay Counseling in Elkton, MD. Megan was responsible for providing out-patient treatment for adults struggling with substance abuse and mental illness, as well as being a rehab specialist for the community based housing program. Other duties included providing supervision for the staff and developing a recovery based modal for working with the mentally ill. Since Megan has worked for a private practice office named Middletown Counseling Services, located in Delaware, treating a variety of issues faced by both individuals and families.

Mr. Gale is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health with over twenty years of clinical experience in the behavioral health field. He has worked with diverse populations in the delivery of psychotherapy.
He holds a Masters in Counseling from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. His focus is on using a varied of modalities to treat behavioral and mental health.He also holds certification in treating drug and alcohol addiction.
Mr. Gale spent twenty-one years in the United States Air Force Reserve specializing in human relations. He has treated individuals and families in outpatient clinics for drug and alcohol dependence and behavioral/mental health issues. |

Jennifer Ewald is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who utilitzes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to treatment in a therapeutic relationship. Understanding that entering into therapy can be an unfamiliar or difficult decision; Jennifer is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment for clients' personal exploration and growth.
Jennifer earned her Bachelor Degree from the University of Delaware in Psychology and Women's Studies and her dual Master Degrees in Social Work and Human Sexuality Education from Widener University. She has worked with a variety of clients in an individual, couples, group, and family capacity. Jennifer's areas of interest and experience include:

Marcia Schweitzer, M.S.S. is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with licenses in the State of Delaware and the District of Columbia. She holds degrees from Temple University and Bryn Mawr College.
Ms. Schweitzer is a specialist in many areas. She is fluent in American Sign Language and is skilled in providing therapy to individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. In addition to providing treatment to clients, Ms. Schweitzer also provides consultation and supervision to professionals. She taught at a university and worked with college students for ten years before joining Middletown Counseling Services, Inc. Other areas of expertise include the following:

Elaine’s specialties include: Children, adolescents, and adult including mood disorders, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance abuse and/or dependency, eating disorders and personal self growth.
Elaine Abrams graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Bachelors of Social Work from Cabrini College, Radnor PA, and University of Pennsylvania for her Masters of Social Work located in Philadelphia, PA. |

Cindy Dionisi is the first friendly face you will see when you enter Middletown Counseling. She is may be short but don't mess with her! She was born and raised in Media, PA.and is now residing in Earlville, MD. Her family is always close by and her grandchildren are her number one priority. If you want to hear a good story, ask her why they call her "Buggy". She enjoys rock and roll, cooking, the beach and well just having a good time! When she is not working, you can catch her relaxing with an iced tea and sporting her gold slippers. |
